Macrometa

Macrometa is a noSQL database with a low latency database useful for building edge functions and services.

We found this service through CloudFlare partnership while looking for solutions to address a worldwide latency problem for a service having users in 100+ countries on all continents.

Upsides

The query working as a REST endpoint facilitates an integration in many languages.

Downsides

The service is missing a Multi-Factor Authentication while connecting to its administrative console.

Compared to Firebase or SupaBase we get to miss accessing data directly from the client. It is a model break from the traditional three-tier architectures but a lot of use cases call for simple data updates.
